Allenport Fire Chief Accused Of Stealing Money From Department

ALLENPORT (KDKA) -- The fire chief of a volunteer fire company in Washington County is accused of stealing more than $9,000 from his own department.

Allenport Volunteer Fire Department Chief Victor Fedrick, 42, is facing more than 150 criminal counts.

He was arrested after an investigation by the RESA Regional Police Department which covers four communities in the Mon Valley.

Investigators say over a seven month period in 2010, Fedrick withdrew money from the department's account at the Mon Valley Community Federal Credit Union.

He went to the bank at least 26 times and used the department's credit card for his personal use.

George Safin said he was disappointed by the arrest because it's a black eye on the community.

Police say Fedrick's wife will also face charges in this case because she also withdrew some of the money. She will surrender voluntarily in the next few days.
