1 Killed, 1 Injured In Wilkinsburg Shootings

WILKINSBURG (KDKA) – Police are investigating after shootings in Wilkinsburg left one person dead and another injured early Monday morning.

According to police, the first shots rang out around midnight in the 1700-block of Paul Court.

Jamel Howard Bey, 19, was shot in the torso and pronounced dead at a local hospital.

An examination of the scene revealed that upwards of 20 shots were fired in the area.

Not long after that shooting, police were called to Princeton Avenue after a young man was shot in the hand.

No other details have been released, but police do believe they are connected.

"We have a couple different scenes within the complex here where there's ballistic evidence indicating there [was] more than one person shooting here," Allegheny County Police Lt. Andrew Schurman said.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Allegheny County Homicide Unit at (412)-473-1300.
