Tractor Trailer Crash Knocks Out Power In Uniontown

UNIONTOWN (KDKA) -- An accident involving a tractor trailer knocked out power in parts of Uniontown Friday afternoon.

According to emergency officials in Fayette County, the tractor trailer took out some utility poles when it crashed and caused the power problems.

Officials say many blocks were affected in downtown Uniontown - including Main Street, McClellandtown Road and Kensington Street. Some traffic lights were also out.

The Mt. Vernon senior citizen high rise on West Main Street was also without power, emergency officials reported.

The tractor trailer driver was not injured in the crash.

There is no word on when power will be restored.
