Bill O'Brien On Sanctions: It's Time To Stop Talking About Them
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - Penn State football head coach Bill O'Brien joined Bob Pompeani on 93.7 The Fan Saturday to talk about how he and his staff have been handling the unprecedented penalties that the NCAA has levied on his program.
He felt that it's time to accept the penalties for what they are and move on.
"It's time to stop talking about them, and start playing by these rules," O'Brien said.
O'Brien was perfectly clear about whether or not he'd be recruiting Penn State's players if he was a coach at another school.
"No."
He felt that his program's fall in popularity among recruits has been greatly exaggerated. For instance, he didn't feel that missing out on bowls would be looked upon all that negatively by recruits, given what else the program has to offer.
"I don't know how many bowl games have 108,000 fans in the stands," O'Brien said.
