Police: Injured City Police Commander Has Long Road To Recovery

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A Pittsburgh Police Commander remains at Allegheny General Hospital after she was seriously hurt Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Robinson Township.

Commander Linda Rosato-Barone, 54, is now heavily sedated, according to Pittsburgh Police Public Information Officer Diane Richard.

The injured officer came through surgery well, but is in a lot of pain, according to Richard. Her family is with her at her bedside in the hospital.

Richard says it will be a long road to recovery.

Barone's car was struck head-on by a vehicle on Steubenville Pike.

Robinson Police continue their investigation into the crash.
