Steelers Fans Fill Latrobe Stadium For Night Practice

LATROBE (KDKA) -- The Steelers held their annual night practice at Latrobe Memorial Stadium Friday evening.

Crowds lined up early to get spots around the fence that surrounds the field in the hope of getting an autograph from one of the players.

Players say they enjoy the opportunity to practice at the field each year and meet so many fans.

Four Steelers actually retired during the practice. Joey Porter, Willie Parker, Aaron Smith and Marvel Smith were all brought on to the field to thunderous applause.

For the first time, Steelers Fest was held earlier in the day outside the stadium. It included food, a rock climbing wall, the traveling Great Hall and the Steelers Experience, which allows fans to test their playing skills.

The evening was topped off with a fireworks display.
