Fans Excited For Pirates' 11-Game Homestand

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Pirates (61-46) are returning home this evening after dropping two out of three on the road against the NL Central leading Cincinnati Reds.

Statistically this season, the Pirates have a better chance of winning at home than losing with a 33-16 record.

Fans certainly hope that remains true as the Bucs start a season-high 11-game homestand.

"I think getting back here home, we're [going to] do just fine. Get re-energized, back here in Pittsburgh and [going to] be set," Doug Snyder said.

"They did well over the weekend. Unfortunately, they only got one win out of the series," Kellie Chapman said.

The excitement is building to see what new players, like Starling Marte, can do at PNC Park.

Marte made an immediate impact with the Pirates by hitting his first major league home run in his first game on the first pitch he saw against the Astros. He also hit his first triple in the majors on Sunday against the Reds.

"Marte hit that first-pitch home run the other night in his first game and we acted like he won the World Series. It was great," Chris Taylor said.

With the Pirates in second place in the NL Central, fans hope the team get enough wins over the next week and a half, to overtake the Reds.

If you want to support the Pirates, you might want to act quickly as tickets may be scarce with plenty of fans trying to pack the stands.
