Steelers Prepare For First Preseason Game

LATROBE (KDKA) -- It may be hard to believe, but the Steelers first preseason game is just two days away.

This year's training camp has had a holdout by a key player, a huge contract for another -- and we learned about an injury to Ben Roethlisberger.

With all that being said, are the Steelers ready to go?

That is the purpose of these four preseason games to see who is ready to go

For many of the rookie and younger guys, this is their audition.

We do know that two rookies are going to start on their offensive line. No. 2 pick Mike Adams goes at left tackle with No. 1 pick David DeCastro at right guard

The first team offense and defense are expected to play one to two series at least as Mike Tomlin begins the process of seeing who can help this year's team

"We've seen some things that could get us excited," he said. "We've also seen some things that are disturbing. I think that's part of training camp.

"I know that you know this is going to be a significant step as we go into stadium. I think that some men are capable of seizing the moment and some probably won't.

"We're interested in giving everybody an opportunity and showing what they're capable of and so I'm optimistic from that standpoint."
