Another Round Of Storms Could Bring Gusty Winds, Heavy Rain, Hail

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) --Storms moved through parts of the area Wednesday night, and now we are bracing for another round of gusty thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.

KDKA meteorologist Dennis Bowman says the most active time period for storm activity today will be from 2 p.m. and into the evening hours.

This latest round of severe weather is expected to bring gusty winds that could bring down tree limbs and utility lines, briefly heavy rain that can produce ponding of water on roads and also hail.

"So, the maps come together this way for us today - with delightful, cooler air coming in and doing battle with the warm, humid air that's in place here," said Bowman, "and a boundary is going to be stretched across the area for these upper level disturbances to ride right along and continue to kick off the showers and storms right on through [Friday] and it looks like we won't be totally out of the woods on into Saturday as well."

We can expect a high of 83 today.

Bowman say there will still be a thunderstorm or two around tonight with a low of 69 degrees.

On Friday, Bowman says we could see even more showers and storms and some could be strong to severe with a high of 76 degrees.
