1 In Custody, 1 On Run After Homestead Shooting, Chase

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police have one person in custody and a second person is on the run following a shooting in Homestead that left one person critically injured and a police pursuit into Hazelwood.

According to investigators, the shooting around 10 a.m. on Plum Alley left one person with a gunshot wound to the back. That person was taken to the hospital and at last check was in critical condition.

After the shooting, authorities say officers spotted a vehicle taking off from the scene and pursued it into Hazelwood along Flowers Avenue before it crashed.

"What we know is, roughly 10 o'clock this morning there was a shooting in the 300-block of Plum Alley," said Lt. Andrew Schurman, of the Allegheny County Police. "There was uniform officers in the vicinity and saw the actors vehicle fleeing the scene.

"They gave pursuit, which ended in the Hazelwood section of the City of Pittsburgh where the vehicle crashed," he added. "There was one person taken into custody and another occupant of the vehicle fled the area; and currently, they are looking for that person. There's a perimeter set up and they're trying to find him."

The small, white Mazda slammed into a brick wall and the people inside jumped out. Two guns were in the car.

Police arrested the driver, 20-year-old Josh Bristo. He has been charged with aggravated assault and fleeing and eluding police along with narcotics and firearms violations.

He will be taken to the Allegheny County Jail for arraignment.

The investigation into the incident continues.
