Fans Get First Taste Of Tighter Heinz Field Security

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Fans arriving for Sunday night's Pittsburgh Steelers game were met with new security measures as they entered Heinz Field.

All fans and employees must be wanded before gaining access to the stadium.

The Steelers told fans to arrive early for when the gates opened at 6 p.m. However, once the gates opened, the lines moved quickly.

Backpacks and coolers are also no longer allowed inside the stadium. Purses are being checked after the individual has been wanded as well.

Fans said they don't mind the added measures to ensure everyone is safe inside and they'll do whatever it takes to see the Steelers win.
