Police Probe Bank Robbery In East Liberty

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Police are investigating after a bank robbery late this morning in East Liberty.

Emergency officials say it happened at the Fifth Third Bank in the 6000-block of Penn Circle South just before noon.

According to emergency officials, the suspect handed a teller a note claiming to have a gun and demanding money. However, no weapon was seen.

The suspect is being described as an African American male in his 50s.

The suspect was able to escape through the back of the bank.
