Vehicle Crashes Into Crafton Heights Building, Some Residents Evacuated

CRAFTON HEIGHTS (KDKA) -- Some residents of Crafton Heights were evacuated from their homes early this morning after a vehicle crashed into a building.

According to emergency officials with Allegheny County, the accident happened on Crucible Street and the building's gas meter was damaged.

Police, paramedics, firefighters and gas company crews were all called to the scene.

Emergency officials say some of the residents had to be evacuated while crews turned the gas off.

There is no word on the condition of the person driving the vehicle or what caused the crash.

But the Red Cross is helping two adults and two children with food and shelter.
