Mike Tomlin Holds First Press Conference Of Season

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) --- As the Pittsburgh Steelers get ready for their season opener in Denver on Sunday night, Coach Mike Tomlin held his first weekly news conference of the season Tuesday.

"We're going to wait and see with those guys. It will all depend on how they respond to a workload," Tomlin says.

It was how Ryan Clark responded to a workload in the mile high air of Denver in 2007 that will rule him out of Sunday's game.

Complications from Clark's sickle cell trait nearly killed him five years ago, and Tomlin is unwilling to take any chances.

"Ryan is fine with that. He understands and I'm sure he'll help out with the preparation," Tomlin says.

The Steelers will need all of the help they can get as they prepare for the only four-time MVP in NFL history.

Peyton Manning is no longer a Colt-- he's a Bronco-- and looks as dangerous as ever.

The Steelers kick off the season Sunday night at 8:15 p.m.
