GERMAN TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — State police in Uniontown are searching for a suspect following an attempted armed robbery at a store in Fayette County Friday night.

The incident happened at the Footedale Market in the 200-block of Water Street in New Salem.

According to state police, the suspect went into the market around 9:15 p.m. and is accused of pointing a gun at the owner of the store and an employee and demanding money.

Investigators say the suspect ran away before getting any cash; however, he fired one round from his gun into the concrete at the entrance outside the store.

No injuries were reported.

The investigation into the incident continues.
