McCANDLESS (KDKA) — Allegheny County Police are trying to figure out how a 16-year-old girl was injured in North Park on Monday evening.
Lt. Jeff Korczyk says the girl was taken to Children’s Hospital with injuries to her head and leg.
KDKA’s Marty Griffin learned that police initially believed someone came up from behind the girl and put a bag over her head. But Lt. Korczyk says they really don’t know how she was hurt.
“The victim has not been spoken to by our detectives,” said Lt. Korczyk.
Police with search dogs were seen in the area of the golf course, but Lt. Korczyk says they weren’t looking for someone.
Instead, he says, they were trying to retrace the victim’s steps.
Lt. Korczyk says they’re “looking at all possibilities.”
