MCCANDLESS (KDKA) — A 16-year-old says she was attacked and nearly abducted while jogging in North Park, but there are questions about her story.

Sources close to KDKA say the evidence just doesn’t match up to her story. Allegheny County Police aren’t talking about the incident.

Whether it did or did not happen the way the teenager reported it, those in the park had some concerns.

“It’s a shame to hear about it, but unfortunately I think that can happen anytime, anywhere,” Sarah Gounaris, of Shaler, said.

“I’m really shocked because I run around here all the time and I’m a cross country runner and I would never want that to happen to me,” Elizabeth Shields, of Shaler, said.

The case is still under investigation.
