PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A report of a green laser being pointed at a Stat-Medevac helicopter is under investigation.

According to emergency dispatchers, the pilot reported someone shining the laser at the chopper while it was flying over the Brookline area Wednesday night.

Investigators searched the woods between Perrilyn Street and Brookline Boulevard but found nothing.

This year, a new law went into effect concerning pointing lasers at aircrafts.

It’s now a federal offense and anyone caught doing it could face five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
