MURRYSVILLE (KDKA) – An accident in Westmoreland County caused heavy traffic back-ups Tuesday morning.

According to officials, the accident happened near the intersection of William Penn Highway and Old William Penn Highway in Murrysville around 9 a.m.

A pick-up truck was stopped at the light when a car slammed into the back of it.

One lane was blocked while crews cleaned up the scene.

The driver of the car was taken to the hospital, but there is no word on their condition at this time.
