Body Found In Georges Township

GEORGES TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — State police are investigating after a body was found in the woods in Fayette County.

The body was found in Georges Township near Walnut Hill Road Tuesday night.

"They did find some skeletal remains in the wooded area along with some clothing," State Trooper Stefani Plume said.

The forensics team from Mercyhurst College was called to the scene.

Authorities believe it may be the body of Rodney Lincoln, an epileptic who was reported missing.

He left his home in Fayette County on June 25th and never returned. His family has been looking for him ever since.

They say he was acting strange and appeared to be confused when he left home.

The forensics team will look at dental records and other evidence and try to identify the body.

"Our coroner here as well as some doctors that are attempting to extricate the remains and then obviously attempt to identify the person," Trooper Plume said.

It could take at least a day to identify the body. Police say there are no signs of foul play.
