PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are looking for a suspect who shot a man on the North Side early Wednesday morning.

The shooting took place at 225 East Ohio Street, in an alley way of an apartment complex just before 4 a.m.

Five rounds were fired at a man in his 40s — one of which was lodged into his abdomen. He was able to get away and seek refuge at a nearby friend’s apartment where he called 9-1-1.

A witness who lives nearby said a couple of men were trying to rob the victim at gunpoint before shooting him.

The man was rushed up the street to Allegheny General Hospital. His identity and condition have not been released.
