Trapped Driver Flown To Hospital, Authorities Investigating Crash

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) –  Authorities are investigating an accident scene after a driver slammed ran into a tree stump, leaving him trapped in his vehicle.

Butler Township resident, 39-year-old Thomas Rockenstein, was traveling west on McCalmont Road just before 7 a.m. this morning.

At some point, he drove off the road and ran into the tree stump, which caused the vehicle to land on its roof.

Rockenstein, semi-conscious, was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be pulled out by emergency responders.

He was flown to Allegheny General Hospital and is in stable condition.
