PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A former state representative from Indiana County has died.

The Indiana Gazette reports Bill Shane was killed in a crash on the Pennsylvania turnpike Thursday.

In addition to serving in the state General Assembly, Shane was an Indiana County commissioner, Indiana Borough council member and served on the state’s public utility commission from 1987-90.

Bill Shane was 77 years old.
