Domestic Dispute Leads To Manchester Drug Bust

MANCHESTER (KDKA) - Police claim an alleged domestic dispute in Manchester led to a drug bust.

Pittsburgh Police were responding to a 911 call claiming a woman was pushed down the stairs at a home in the 1300-block of Pennsylvania Avenue in the Pittsburgh's Manchester section.

When officers went inside, they found it was much more than a domestic dispute.

According to police, the woman answered the door bleeding profusely from the mouth.

Gerald Sloan, 30, was also inside the house claiming he did not hurt the victim and there was no one else inside the residence.

However, a witness told police he went to the home to use the restroom when he heard Sloan and the female arguing. He claimed Sloan pushed her down the stairs.

The witness then told police Sloan attacked him, but he managed to get away and call 911.

Police officers wanted to make sure no one else was inside the residence and when they went upstairs, they found an estimated 20 pounds of marijuana in plain view in an upstairs bedroom.

Officers obtained a search warrant and found numerous bags and jars of marijuana scales along with pieces of equipment for a marijuana growing operation.

According to police, the woman was taken to the hospital and will eventually face charges.

Sloan was taken to the Allegheny County Jail and is being charged with simple assault and drug possession.
