Danville, KY Prepares For VP Debate
PITTSBURGH (KDKA NewsRadio 1020) --- With a population just over 16,000, Danville, Kentucky isn't exactly a bustling metropolis. So why is this tiny hamlet hosting its second vice presidential debate in four years?
Turns out Danville is home to Centre College, and since Danville applies for the debate, they were chosen. How does a tiny town cope with the mass of media, politicians, onlookers, and security?
KDKA AM's Larry and John talk to Danville Police Chief Tony Gray and Mayor Bernie Hunstad about their preparations for the big debate and why their town will get the national spotlight tonight. They even have a debate festival called the "Thrill in the Ville."
