ARMSTRONG COUNTY (KDKA) —Overnight, police have arrested the man accused of taking a woman hostage in Armstrong County.

Police say 37 year old Keith Kammerdeiner was located at UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh overnight. State police from Kittanning picked him up from the hospital.

After being taken back to Kittanning, Kammerdeiner was taken to Armstrong County Medical Hospital for a mental evaluation.

They say he threatened a woman with a knife in Kittanning, holding her hostage for hours. Police also say Kammerdeiner sexually assaulted the woman.

The woman was able to eventually escape and call 911.

Police tell us Kammerdeiner and the victim had a previous relationship.
