Boy In Hospital After Shooting Own Hand
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A 12-year-old boy is being treated after he shot himself in the hand.
Around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a call on the 500-block of Farnsworth Street.
At the time, the boy told officers he was walking down the street with a friend when two black males came up to him and shot him. He also said that his friend had run away.
Police found no crime scene and later the boy confessed that he had accidentally shot himself.
Authorities say his right hand was bandaged and there was a hold in his right pant leg, as well as what appeared to be a graze mark along his thigh.
The boy was taken to UPMC Children's Hospital and is in stable condition.
