INTERNSHIPS:
Internships are available for college juniors or seniors (students must have completed their sophomore year to apply) in the following areas: News Assignment Desk, Business Reporting, Pittsburgh Today Live, Consumer Reporting, Web Production, Weather/Broadcast Meteorology, Sports, Sports Radio 93-7 The Fan, Commercial Production, Hometown High Q/CW Promotions, Sales Marketing/Research, Internet Advertising.

Internships are not compensated and students must receive college credit for the internship. Previous interns are not permitted to do another internship.

Interested students must attend our internship interviews and bring four (4) copies of the following paperwork on the day of the interview:

• Completed application
• Completed faculty sponsor questionnaire along with his/her letter of recommendations
• Letter of recommendation from a previous internship supervisor or from an employer
• Resume with Cover Letter
• Writing Sample (a short paper already submitted to class or an essay on “The Value of an Internship” is acceptable)
• Transcript

Do not mail these forms to the station. Any student who shows up with incomplete or missing paperwork will not be permitted to interview on this date.

Next Internship Interview (Summer/Fall 2013 Semester):

• Date: Monday, March 11, 2013
• Time: Registration begins at 8:45 a.m.; Introduction begins promptly at 10 a.m.

SPORTSRADIO 93-7 THE FAN

Sportsradio 93-7 The Fan, or KDKA-FM, features local sports programming 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Fan’s most important voice is its listeners, THE FANS!

INTERNSHIPS: Internships with CBS Radio – Pittsburgh are supervised by the events/promotions department. Each student will be an intern for the three Pittsburgh CBS Radio FM stations (WDSY, KDKA-FM, and WZPT) and will be scheduled for approximately 16-20 flexible hours per week throughout the duration of the internship.

Intern responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Help promote all three Pittsburgh CBS Radio stations at remotes, station promotional events, concerts and fundraisers
• Assist with equipment set-up and tear-down at promotional events
• Interact with clients, listeners and employees of various professional levels
• Assist with the research and preparation of all upcoming promotional events
• Conduct research on competing stations in the Pittsburgh market
• General clerical duties
• Assist in departments other than promotions when the opportunities are available and upon approval
