Man Injured In Mount Oliver Shooting

MOUNT OLIVER (KDKA) - Police are investigating after a man was injured after being shot in the head in Mount Oliver Wednesday morning.

According to police, the shooting happened between the Mount Oliver Municipal Building and the post office around 1:45 a.m.

"Anywhere you move to there's shooting and killing," Monique Clifford said.

Clifford, 48, of Mount Oliver knows that all too well after what happened very close to her house Wednesday morning.

The victim was able to call for help by using the 911 emergency phone at the Municipal Building. When police arrived, they found the man had a gunshot wound to the head.

He was rushed to UPMC Mercy Hospital, where he was last listed in stable condition.

Police are now trying to find a suspect in the shooting.

"At the moment, we're trying to figure that out. The victim in this case was less than fully cooperative," Det. Andrew Schurman said.

According to a witness, the suspect is described as being an African-American male standing 5-feet-7-inches tall with a black hooded-sweatshirt and black tennis shoes.
