Police Investigate Possible Case Of Child Abuse In Mt. Oliver

MOUNT OLIVER (KDKA) -- A toddler was rushed to the hospital from a home in Mount Oliver Thursday evening.

Police say the child had severe injuries, and believe it could be a possible case of abuse.

A neighbor in the 300-block of Walter Avenue tells KDKA he saw two adults put a child in a car and speed away from the house just before 6 p.m.

KDKA's Kym Gable reports that someone took that child to the Mt. Oliver Police Station where officers noticed bruises and other injuries on the 2-year-old.

Police are not releasing many details about the case.

The little boy was then rushed to Children's Hospital where sources say he is in serious condition.

No one is commenting on what type of injuries he has.

While Mt. Oliver officers secured the scene back at the house, investigators from the Allegheny County Police Department reportedly interviewed the child's mother at the hospital.
