PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Pittsburgh police have issued an arrest warrant for the suspect wanted in connection with a bank robbery last week in Squirrel Hill.

Investigators say they are searching for 33-year-old Joseph Guiney, Jr. of Greenfield.

The robbery happened at the First National Bank on Murray Avenue just after 12:30 p.m. last Wednesday, Oct. 31.

According to police, the suspect entered the bank, approached a teller and passed her a note that said: “I have a gun, give me the money.”

Investigators say the teller handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of money from the safe. According to police, he took the money, put it in his pocket and then fled the bank.

He got away on foot.

Anyone with information on Guiney’s whereabouts is asked to call the Pittsburgh Police Robbery Squad at 412-323-7155.
