Fatal Crashes Happen Hours Apart In Washington Co.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Two fatal car crashes happened in Washington County Sunday, within only a few hours of each other.

The first one happened around 8:30 a.m. on State Route 50, in Independence Township.

The driver, 26-year-old Clarence Dudley of Avella, was killed.

Dudley's car crossed over the guardrail and an embankment, after hitting a bend in the road. The Washington County Coroner says it was the only car involved in the accident.

A passing motorist first discovered the car after the crash.

Not much longer after, 21-year-old Grace Sauerzopf was killed in West Finley Township.

Her car was found overturned on the road after she lost control of it.
