Man In Custody After Police Standoff

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A police standoff in Lincoln Borough came to an end just before 11 p.m. Saturday, with the suspect taken into custody by a K-9 unit.

Police told KDKA a 30-year-old man was inside a home near the corner of Liberty Way and Finney Road. Family members called police saying he might harm himself.

"So the officer took the necessary steps," Lincoln Borough Police Chief Michael Lupinacci said.

Lupinacci said officers surrounded the house and the SWAT team was called.

The man was said to have weapons inside with him.

At about 10 p.m., police say he threw a firecracker out the front door.

Police say just as SWAT arrived, the man exited the house and police took him down.

No one was hurt.
