Driver May Face Charges After Car Plunges Over North Side Hill

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A 23-year-old Pittsburgh woman crashed her car down a steep hill as she drove down Henderson Street on the North Side Thursday afternoon.

Police say they found an opened pint of vodka in her possession and also say they suspect she may have possibly been driving under the influence.

According to eyewitnesses, she plunged the Chrysler 300 nose first down the hill, flipping it over before it landed on its side. The front end was crushed and the windshield smashed.

Eyewitnesses say the woman told them she was hit by another motorist who forced her over the hillside.

"She said somebody hit her up on top of the hill and she swerved, and they hit her and that pushed her over the hill," said Robert Kozicki, who helped pull the woman from the car.

She was taken to Allegheny General Hospital where police drew a sample of her blood.

She suffered only cuts and bruises.

Police have not released her name.
