Heinz Red Zone: Tex-Mex Style Skillet Supper

STEELERS HUDDLE “Heinz Red Zone Recipe”: Tex-Mex-Style Skillet Supper

  • ½ pound lean ground beef
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • 1 can (15 ounce) black beans ~ drained
  • 1 can (14.5 ounce) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup Heinz Tomato® Ketchup
  • 1 cup frozen corn kernels
  • ½ cup uncooked rice
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon oregano
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Directions:
In large nonstick skillet, cook beef and onion until beef is browned; drain fat.

Add beans and remaining ingredients except cheese and mix well.

Simmer, covered, 20 minutes or until rice is cooked.

Remove skillet from heat; sprinkle cheese over mixture.

Cover and let stand until cheese is melted.
