Oregon Mall Employee Talks With KDKA About Shooting

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) – A gunman opens fire in a crowded Oregon mall, killing three people, including himself.

Today we’re getting a first-hand account from someone who worked in that mall.

Bill Rehkopf was joined on the afternoon news by Ben Christensen, who was in the Clackamas Town Center Mall when that gunman opened fire.

Christensen is the Assistant Manager at Just Sports.

He says immediately his heroic instincts kicked in, and he ushered shoppers into his store from the mall walkways, and out the back door to safety.

After the shooting ended, authorities actually questioned Christensen to make sure he wasn’t the shooter.

He is sharing his story with KDKA, as well as the pictures he tweeted.
