Police Search For 3 Men Involved In Cranberry Twp. Robbery

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - Several armed men pulled off a home invasion in Cranberry Township Thursday night.

According to police, the incident happened in an apartment in the Laurelwood Apartment Complex around 8 p.m.

Five of the people who lived there were home at the time of the invasion, while two others arrived home during the crime. However, they managed to get away and call police.

Cranberry Police said the intruders came in through an unlocked door.

"People came to the residents' door, opened the door and entered with guns demanding money and drugs from the residents. We have no idea why they may have targeted these residents. We believe they may have mistaken the residents for somebody else," Sgt. Chuck Mascellino said.

The only description police have of the suspects is that two of the men were white, and a third was African-American.

The residents are not United States citizens and were brought here from the Virginia and North Carolina areas to work on construction projects.

Police said despite the language barrier, they were able to get fairly good information.

There were no injuries.

Cranberry Township police ask anyone with information to call (724)-776-5180.
