Washington Co. Officials Make 25 Arrests During Drug Sweep

WASHINGTON, Pa. (KDKA) — Washington County District Attorney Eugene Vittone says a drug sweep by his office’s Drug Task Force resulted in 52 arrest warrants executed throughout Washington County.

The sweep began at 6 a.m.

By 3:30 this afternoon, 25 suspects had been taken into custody.

“The majority of the arrests today involve cocaine and heroin,” said Vittone. “But we also have a problem with prescription drugs.”

Vittone says the sweep represents a milestone in the task force’s yearlong effort to combat the drug problem.
