PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) — Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger wasn’t great after his return from injury, and he wasn’t great when he had to be, either. He completed just half his throws, one of which was a damaging pick-six to Leon Hall early against the Bengals.

“I didn’t see him. I asked Heath where he came from, and he didn’t see him either. He kind of hid behind Heath, and, at the last minute, just kind of under-cut it, and that’s on him,” Roethlisberger explained to 93.7 The Fan’s Ron Cook after Sunday’s loss.

“It was hard to really get going. We never make excuses. We’ve had a lot of injuries to deal with, but something we’ve done well is always fill in. We had a chance to win the game, and I blew it.”

Roethlisberger was also asked if changes need to be made to the offense next year:

The Steelers close their 2012 season against the Browns next Sunday at Heinz Field at 1:00 on KDKA-TV.
