Police Investigate Theft At Belle Vernon Garage

BELLE VERNON (KDKA) -- Police are trying to track down a suspect after almost $10,000 worth of items were stolen from a garage in Belle Vernon.

According to Southwest Regional Police, the theft happened at Drew Rainey's work garage on Johnston Street.

Investigators say Rainey reported the incident after discovering that several items were gone around 11 a.m. Thursday.

"He had just completed the inventory, and it indicted that items were taken from both inside the garage itself and a chipper that was stored outside the garage," said Chief John Hartman, of the Southwest Regional Police.

The items missing include:

  • Bostitch Blue Electric Diamond Cutter with a 14-inch blade
  • Bostitch Yellow Coil Air Framing Guns
  • Bostitch Blue Electric 40-pound Jack Hammer
  • Bostitch Yellow Electric Airless Gun
  • Tow-behind Tree Chipper 30hp

It all totals $9,950.
