PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Firefighters were able to save the family pet after a house fire broke out in Fayette County Friday night.

The fire started around 6:30 p.m. at a house in the 300-block of Howard Road in Wharton Township.

The home was gutted by the fire.

However, firefighters managed to save the family pet – a potbellied pig.

No word on what caused the fire.
