Fans Disappointed After Steelers Miss Playoffs

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The season is now officially over for the Pittsburgh Steelers and some fans are still trying to come to grips with the fact the team will not be competing in the playoffs.

The Steelers finished the season with a 24-10 win over the Cleveland Browns to finish with an 8-8 record.

Despite the win, they were plagued by a lackluster running game once again this season.

"The running game wasn't very good all year no matter who was in there. They fumbled the ball, they didn't get any yards, the offensive line I think they were playing with too many injuries all year," one man said.

The proof is in the record. For the first time since 2009, the Steelers will not be going to the playoffs.

"Had a lot of injuries that didn't help. We couldn't make stops on third down, no running game," another man said.

"The offense was frustrating to watch the second half of the year. The one guy on TV made the point this week that since Ben [Roethlisberger] has been back from injury, the offense has been lame," another fan said.

Surprisingly, the defense finished the season tops in the NFL.

However, change comes every season. So, who won't be with the Steelers next year?

"I'd say [Todd] Haley goes quick as possible out on a rail," one man said.

"I think Mike Wallace is gone. I don't think they're going to bring him back. I don't think they're going to sign him," one man said.

Even though some fans are upset, they still love the Steelers and think the team will be better next year.
