Snow Flurries Won't Spoil New Year's Fun

PITTSBUGH (KDKA) – It may have started snowing, but it won't be enough to spoil your New Year's Eve fun.

There will be some continued snow flurries throughout Monday night, but it will only accumulate to about 1 inch of snow.

The temperature Monday night will stay in the teens, so you may want to bundle up if you're going to be celebrating the new year downtown for First Night or outside at all.

Another inch or 2 inches of snow can be expected Tuesday, though, with sunshine again on Wednesday.

However, the snow will not accumulate in the same large amounts like it did last week.

"So it won't be snowing steadily all night long," KDKA's chief meteorologist Jeff Verszyla said. "It's going to be more on and off."

An arctic cold front will keep temperatures below normal through the weekend.
