GREENSBURG, Pa. (KDKA) – His family hoped little baby Kaleb Nicholas Tomson would arrive on Christmas Day, but instead, he decided to arrive as the first baby born in Westmoreland County in 2013.

Kaleb was born at Excela Westmoreland at 12:31 a.m., and weighed in at 8 pounds 4 ounces.

Mom, Karin Tomson, was sure her baby would follow in his grandpa’s footsteps and be born on Christmas day, but instead, baby Kaleb decided to wait for New Year’s Day.

Karin and Jordan Tomson live in Hempfield Township.

They have another son, Blake, who is going to turn 2 this month.
