PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) — Steelers linebacker Larry Foote joined The Fan Morning Show on Wednesday, chatting with the guys after the Steelers season concluded this past weekend.
He said he’s trying to take some time off from watching sports on television, and just relax.
He isn’t sure of his status with the team going forward.
“They said they’d like to have me back. It’s so early, I know they have other stuff to do,” he said. “I’ll have a good idea in the next couple weeks or a month or so.”
Generally speaking, he would consider taking a hometown discount.
“Depends what kind of discount. Depends what kind of offers I got from other teams,” he said. “But yes, absolutely.”
He doesn’t think that too much of the team’s four-win dropoff from last season had to do with the team letting some of its veteran leaders go.
“I think the leadership part- it’s important, but it’s a little bit overrated,” he said. “At the end of the play, you either make the plays, or you don’t make the plays.”
