Horse Rescued After It Can’t Stand Up

FALLOWFIELD TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A unique horse rescue took place today in Fallowfield Township.

A 29-year-old horse named “Casey” wasn’t able to get back on all fours using her own strength. Volunteer fire fighters and the Washington County Animal Rescue Team were called in to help get the 23-hundred pound horse back on her feet.

Other fire fighters from Valley Inn were called in, and used low pressure air bags to help lift Casey up.

Casey was able to get back up, and thanks to the combined efforts of fire fighters, a local vet, and the owners of the horse, she’s expectd to be okay.
