Allentown Home Invasion Suspects Looking For Painkillers

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Two people were tied up Tuesday night during a home invasion in Pittsburgh's Allentown section.

Police say the three men involved were looking for prescription pills. And while the victims were very shaken up from the incident, they were not hurt.

The suspects entered the home in the 300-block of Allen Street around 7:30 p.m.

The man living in the home has emphysema. His wife was thrown to the floor and tied up.

Officials say the suspect demanded to know where the couple kept their prescription painkillers.

"They were looking for painkillers and money and jewelry," said Sandy Stubenrauch, the home invasion victim. "I told them I didn't have anything. They said they know he's sick, they know he's got painkillers. 'Where's the painkillers at?' And I kept telling them, 'I don't have nothing.'"

The woman also said the thieves made sure her husband was getting enough oxygen by continually placing the breathing tubes to his face.
