Ft. Pitt Blvd. Partially Closed Thursday For Paving

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- There's a traffic alert for commuters who plan to use Fort Pitt Boulevard in Downtown Pittsburgh on Thursday.

The road will be closed for much of the day because crews will be repaving it following repairs from last week's massive water main break.

The closure will begin at 7:30 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m. from Smithfield Street to Stanwix Street.

According to the Pittsburgh Parking Authority, the Mon Wharf parking lot will be open and can be accessed from Wood Street.

Drivers who use the Mon Wharf are advised to plan for the possibility of delays.

The repairs were necessary when a water pipe burst last week and water poured down onto the Parkway East.

Fort Pitt Boulevard was closed all weekend while crews repaired the waterline and temporarily patched the road.
