Kathleen Kane Sworn In As New Pa. Attorney General

HARRISBURG (KDKA) -- Pennsylvania has a new attorney general.

Kathleen Kane is the first Democrat and first woman ever elected to the position.

The former prosecutor from Scranton took her oath on Tuesday.

She pledged to take on a number of issues and clean up the state.

"It's time for action. It's time to take our streets back. It's time to take our schools back, our children and integrity for those serving in public office. It's no-nonsense time," she said. "It's time to roll up our sleeves and just get it done."

Kane also pledged to be a strong consumer advocate, going after companies that take advantage of residents in Pennsylvania.
