Police Still Looking For Missing Rifle, Suspect In Butler Co. Murder

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are still looking for a suspect and the missing rifle that may have been used to kill a Butler County man Saturday.

Wednesday police released a picture of a Canadian Centennial Winchester .30-30 rifle, the same model they think was used to kill 45-year-old Robert Gauurich in his Evans City auto shop.

Gauurich died of a single gunshot wound to the chest. A bloody trail starting inside the repair shop led police to his body just outside of it.

Police said there was no sign of forced entry on the scene and Gauurich's fiancee, Jessica Hoover, said he had planned to sell his rifle of the same model.

The rifle has yet to be located.

Surveillance video taken outside of the shop is being reviewed by police.

Police ask anyone with information as to the rifle's whereabouts call Pennsylvania State Police at 724-284-8100.
